Getting Support : Speaking Out

Producer looking for interviewees

from KateCoe - Wednesday, January 19, 2005

I'm a producer with A Current Affair, and an interested in speaking, on and off camera, with anyone who grew up in TF, and has since left.

I'm a producer with A Current Affair, which will start airing in March on FOX. I'm interested in speaking, on and off camera, with anyone who grew up in TF, and has since left. If you have family still in, that's esp. interesting.

I'm not looking for anyone who joined in the 70s and is still there, happy as a clam, to be frank.

I'm also looking for photographs, home movies, literature produced by TF and COG, home videos, etc.

We're in Southern California. I'm spoken with Daniel Roselle a few times, if anyone wants to check me out.

I've read just about everything at this site, and I'm amazed at how brave people are.

(Agree/Disagree?)
Just to update-- I received about 145 emails (some from 1st generation types and some from TF current members). I'm ploughing through all the materials, (despite my family being sick) and hope to get more interviews done in the near future.
Thanks to everyone who emailed or commented or read.

Jules, might it be feasible to post an article addressed to visiting members of the journalistic profession (Maybe on the home page), where those of us who are prepared to deal with the media could post our contact details? Or, in the case of those who don't want to make their details known in public, they could at least post their user name so that they can be reached through their profile. This might help to take some of the load off Albatross, since his is the only email featured on the home page. I hear he's rather swamped at the moment...

I think that is a really good idea too. I talked to Carl from the Insider TV program, and he said lots of people have contacted him about interviews but he still needs the suicide tape, and he says sarafina won't give it to him.(reply to this comment

it's not that she wont give it to him, she also has a life and works and is too busy right now to be answering all the media phone calls she's being bombarded with.

she's making copies, and trying her best to get it out there - cut her some slack people.(reply to this comment

My proposal is that the news organizations who want the tape pool their resources and cooperate in providing each other copies so it only has to be released once. It is unreasonable and ineffecient to expect someone who is volunteering their time to slave away making copies perhaps one by one as numerous requests are received and media interest increases exponentially. There is plenty of precendent for this and I'm sure the talented, experienced and professional journalists working on this story can figure out the best way to cooperate and pool their vast resources to minimize the workload for the unpaid volunteers who have graciously donated their spare time (and much more) to the pursuit of justice and truth. Just a suggestion. (reply to this comment

If it hasn't been done yet, I can help with digitizing the video. Not that it'll get here quickly.

I don't think there'd be a problem showing a low-quality copy as long as you can produce the original.

I wonder if this is a 'CNN exclusive'(wasn't it?) thing.(reply to this comment

I've received a number of responses. Thank you all so much. I, too, will want Ricky's tape, and any other tapes and photographs anyone would be willing to let me use.

As my show won't go on the air until March, I have more time to really delve into this. The articles and comments I've read here are so moving-- I want to do justice to peoples' stories. (reply to this comment
