Getting Real : This Site Sucks
more like "this site needs some order" | from TimothyD - Friday, November 23, 2007 accessed 632 times I came here a few years ago and it was easy to find stuff to read on every topic.. Now, it's just a bunch of stuff here, there and everywhere.. It would just be a bit nicer if it was easier to find stuff about a particular topic.. Just a bit more organized... |

I used to come here and find stuff as well, but now all I find is other stuff. I try to look for certain stuff but it is hard to find that stuff now. It's easy to find some stuff, but not other stuff. If only there was some way to stuff all the stuff with the other stuff....... (reply to this comment)
| | | from neez Monday, November 26, 2007 - 00:00 (Agree/Disagree?) You are absolutely correct. It's very hard to find an article you want by searching the topics. And it doesn't help that once an article's off the front page, it gets lost in alphabetical mayhem(like I can remember the first letter of that article I was reading a month ago!) no matter what section it's in To be fair, the admins do this in their spare time. But yeah, it definately isn't what it used to be. But what really shits me is the fact that you can't put double spaces after periods(I'm weird like that). I mean seriously, someone tell me one good reason why it's like that(And don't say it's about space saving). I was typing a formal letter the other day, and I kept having to go back and check my double spaces. Most of us have enough bad grammar habits without being forced to use incorrect punctation....!!!!! (reply to this comment)
| | | From neez Wednesday, November 28, 2007, 02:20 (Agree/Disagree?) That would work. But really, articles should be archived in chronologic order. The way it is done everywhere else for good reason. Alphabetical order might look pretty, but it doesn't help anyone find anything. Even putting the highly rated articles at the top would make(slightly) more sense. And remembering the author wouldn't always help. For instance, what about people that only check this site occasionaly and just want to read the recent posts. So do you have a solution for our single-space problem? I mean besides the obvious one which is kindly asking an admin to spend 5 minutes reverting back to the correct way it was before.(reply to this comment) |
