Getting Real : This Site Sucks
whatever...again | from mia1 - Monday, May 16, 2005 accessed 2295 times LIKE WHATEVER you know reading a lot of this stuff really pisses me off but u know I think we give the Fam too much credit.... they're nothing but self deluded freaks why not let them be, everyone has a choice. all this uncle this and auntie that is getting boring. my problem is with the parents who sat by and let these things happen to their kids. everyone makes a choice we all made a choice to get out but these parents didn't. I think these people should hold the bulk of responsibility. whatever |

| from MFAH Saturday, May 21, 2005 - 05:50 (Agree/Disagree?) Mia, this site makes for good reading at times. It is also informative. I have learned though, that a lot of the members are very, very uptight. They will bash your personlity, and yes, even skills as a parent, at the slightest sign that you are not as uptight as they are. God forbid you make a joke, or have a laugh about what happened in the Family, but , most of all, if there is even the slightest sign of typos, or spelling errors, a lot of people are so dense, they will miss the whole point of what you are trying to say, and spend the rest of their day correcting you. Like we haven't had enough of THAT in our lives already! So I say to you. Ignore. and most of all, don't say you are sorry! (reply to this comment)
| from mia1 Thursday, May 19, 2005 - 11:32 (Agree/Disagree?) u know for the record I don't think this site sucks and I wasn't trying to discount any of the stories and experiences that I have read about I personally have a problem with my parents and how their desicions affected my 10 plus siblings. I have kids and I cannot fathom how they could of sat by and let things happen, even when the fam was no longer in the picture. I had no intention of offening anyone. (reply to this comment)
| From GoldenMic Saturday, May 21, 2005, 11:59 (Agree/Disagree?) If I am understanding you, I think you are saying here that your original post was an expression of frustration at the parents in particular, and that right now you personally are less concerned with all the others that act abusively, and more concerned with the issue of understanding how a parent could so blithely betray the fundamental parent-child bond. In a way, that may be the greatest horror of all, that a fanatical loyalty to the cult can actually result in the complete severing of a parent's ability and desire to protect their child(ren). Having been a child of a cult, it was only when I had children there, and began to contemplate the idea that my own babies would be subjected to the life (lifelessness) that I had felt for years, that I knew I had to leave. Ten years later, my Mom also left the cult, and she was so screwed up that I couldn't even expect her to deal with the horror of what she had done; it took all her will to live another day. Now, in the last few years, she has had the courage to look at it, but I can also tell that she will never fully understand how and why she allowed us children to be so badly damaged. It is such a tregedy, and the pain of it will never fully end. Frankly, if you are able to spare your own children that horror, you will have given them a gift that many of us would pay almost any price to have recieved.(reply to this comment) |
| | From conan Thursday, May 19, 2005, 15:34 (Agree/Disagree?) So then what the fuck was your point when you had the oh so brilliant idea of writing and posting your idiotic article in the first place if the above is your disclaimer?? You seem like quite the idiot...too bad you have kids! God (imaginary friend for grown-ups) only knows how they'll turn out with you as a mother figure. Holy shit that's a scary thought.(reply to this comment) |
| | | | From mia1 Friday, May 20, 2005, 19:24 (Agree/Disagree?) Look, I don't know you!!!! I don't know what kind of person you are and if I did I wouldn't insult you to your face. Your comment hurt, yeah right everyone has the right to say whatever the fuck they want as long as they agree with jackasses like you. I am not nor have I every professed to be the greatest mother but I do work 2 jobs working morning till night to make sure my kids get what they need and want. I got on this site because I wanted to know how others who have left are dealing. Yeah I'm uneducated and stupid, but I won't let that stop me from accomplishing my goals. If wasn't my fault that I was never given a decent education but it was my fault that I have kids and I will do whatever it takes to care for them the best I can. Two words asshole FUCK YOU!(reply to this comment) |
| | | | From xolox Friday, May 20, 2005, 23:52 (Agree/Disagree?) In my exeperience and dealings with stupid idiots, (which is unfortunately vast), I find they are too stupid to recognize the fatal flaw in themselves. Ignorance is possible to remedy with some study, stupidity is not. Educate yourself. Admiting you're stupid reeks of surrender to the condition, and really, who needs a stupid parent!? My father is educated in psychology, and yet, he joined a cult. See what I'm getting at? (reply to this comment) |
| | From jez Thursday, June 02, 2005, 09:10 (Agree/Disagree?) IM(humble)O the only people who, on having been in TF long enough to get past whatever the current term for 'babe' is and remain, are either stupid or evil. To me TF is the epitome of evil and should be a footnote in the dictionary's definition of evil. With regard to the preponderance of many exers to belittle those, who on leaving, have settled for less than high-flying careers (myself being one of the above), I repudiate by saying: "I didn't leave TF to become rich, but to be free." Not to mention giving my children a better chance in life than my parents gave me. I'm proud to say they're both at college and doing well, ta very much!(reply to this comment) |
| | | | | | | | | | From conan Friday, May 20, 2005, 07:37 (Agree/Disagree?) You gutless, no name replying shit-head! I was attacking her mothering skills for a few reasons; one, she can't spell, punctuate or construct a sentence in English that actually makes sense, and two: she doesn’t seem to be able to make up her mind as to whether she likes this site, hates it, both, or neither. Plus she doesn’t know if she blames TF, her parents, our ‘uncles and aunties’ or god (God). All in all, she’s so mixed up and deluded and, dare I say it, dumb, that it’s a scary thought knowing that she has kids and will attempt to raise them. (reply to this comment) |
| | | | From conan Friday, May 20, 2005, 07:44 (Agree/Disagree?) Oh, and by the way, the people you called ‘uncle’ and ‘auntie’ were parents to some other molested, abused, tortured little kid in the cult. So open your fucking eyes and use some (apparently not so) common sense and you’ll realize that everyone in that cult had as much to do with the fragile state of mind we currently posses as your flesh and blood parents. I’m not defending mine. I’ve made it pretty clear on this site what I think of my parents (who are still in) but your block-headed close-minded approach is just pathetic.(reply to this comment) |
| | From no name replyer Saturday, May 21, 2005, 08:39 (Agree/Disagree?) Conan, and I'm sure that's your name, it's unbelieveable, even considering your hand.me.down heritage from a site icon, that you shamelessly trash a person's self esteem and personal efforts. More than any other single thing, that relentless, harsh, piercing attack on the core of a person's being is the cause for most of the lost, confused, fearful elements in a life without success. It is the reason options circle a person rather than stand still and be chosen. Its the reason the eyes are cast down so that they can't see the options. Sappy compliments aren't it either, just speak to the soul of a person or don't speak, because you aren't helping, and what's more - one of your pet peeves - you aren't saying anything that hasn't been covered many times.(reply to this comment) |
| | | | | | | | | | | | from Ne Oublie Wednesday, May 18, 2005 - 03:21 (Agree/Disagree?) I agree that there is an argument that the more attention is given TF, the more it feeds their persecution complex, and by extension, their perception of their own significance. (reply to this comment)

| | | from Valley girl Tuesday, May 17, 2005 - 03:05 (Agree/Disagree?) Like totally whatever! So like I'm sitting in the mall the other day and like my friend Buffy says to me "Hey, Tiff" (my name is Tiffany, but, like, my friends call me Tiff), "have you ever heard of this mega-like-wierd cult thingy called the Family International?" Helloooo, who does she think she's talking to -- Miss Uninformed? It's not like *I* wasn't the one who told her all about the time I caught HER ex-boyfriend Brian making out with that heifer cheerleader last week. Anyway, I told her how I had gone over to Jeff's house (he's, like, a total stud puppy) and asked him to show me this cult stuff. I was like "oh my gawd, only a total dweeb would like this" because none of this stuff made ANY sense. Everyone was, like, TOTALLY talking in languages that made no sense... there was all this wierd like billy shakespeare talk about like sex with kids and he was like...and I was like...and we were all like OH MY GAAWD. Like aunties and like uncles...like totally boring freakazoids. Like Hello we all like have choices. Anyway (tossing ponytail back), Mia, if you wanna like be a total valley girl then you need to like study the like 80's and Oh my Gaawd like get with the program. Whatever Yours Totally, Tiff (reply to this comment)

OMG because I like totally thought you were like being mean. Thank you like so much for like clearing that up for me. Now I can go the mall with a clean conscience knowing that there is like world peace. Why don't you like come down to the mall so we can like get to know eachother over a game of pacman. OMG like, at the mall they have these bitchin' sunglasses...and like I really think today that like I need to make them totally mine. Nyway, I gotta go because my neck is like starting to hurt from like my head bobbing all over the place when I say like and totally. Wishing World Peace to you all!!! VG (reply to this comment) |
| | From Ne Oublie Wednesday, May 18, 2005, 03:48 (Agree/Disagree?) Alas, I fear my own use of language lacks the required punctuations of 'like' and 'totally' as to prohibit easy communication with yourself, or any fellow-pacman-player. Perhaps, in order to address the diversity of language used in this forum, a code could be written to either insert or remove the punctuating instances of 'like' and 'totally', thereby enabling us all to better understand each other. (Once this has been perfected, I'm sure a prototype 'global translator' could be designed which I could then wear on my suit lapel a-la-Star Trek.)(reply to this comment) |
| | | | | | | | From valley girl Tuesday, May 17, 2005, 10:58 (Agree/Disagree?) Honey, Beginning an article with "like whatever" and ending it with "whatever" constitutes a valley girl response. So in answer to your very serious multiple choice I would have to say...A valley girl is by definition stupid! Loosen up..get laid or whatever it takes. Multiple choice: A: get a sense of humor B: define sarcasm C: Move to a metropolitan city which is "on the map" in countries other than America D: Are you Mia? If so...I would lose "like" & "whatever" Totally, Like Oh MY GAWD! (reply to this comment) |
