Getting Real : Faith No More
I love this quote. | from PopNFresh - Monday, September 18, 2006 accessed 920 times I have no idea who wrote this, but I love it. "I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours." I found it while browsing the forums of a game I play as an addiction. The author of a hilarious story had it in his signature. Link to the story and where I found the sig: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=11211166&sid=1 |

"We are all atheists about most of the gods that societies have ever believed in. Some of us just go one god further." Richard Dawkins. (reply to this comment)
| | | | | | | From AndyH Thursday, September 21, 2006, 12:22 (Agree/Disagree?) Don't you love it when things tie into other things? I was checking out more info about Dawkins, and found this bit. It brings us back to Sean's poll, and the ensuing debate. From Wikipedia; "The Root of All Evil? is a television documentary, written and presented by Richard Dawkins, in which he argues that the world would be better off without religion. The documentary was first broadcast in January 2006, in the form of two 45 minute episodes (excluding advertisement breaks), on Channel 4 in the UK." I was at first surprised to hear that Dawkins, a well-known intellectual, had an identical stance as SeanSwede. However, as I read on, I was delighted to discover this; "Dawkins has said that the title "The Root of All Evil?" was not his preferred choice, but that Channel 4 had insisted on it to create controversy.[1] Dawkins has stated that the notion of anything being the root of all evil is ridiculous.[2]" Hooray! This guy is quickly becoming a hero of mine.
