| | | from SeanSwede Sunday, November 05, 2006 - 09:43 (Agree/Disagree?) He has just grown weak. He just cant cut it anymore and needs something to lean on and turns back to religion even tho he knows deep down inside that its sinthetic, he sees it as some kind of psychological therapy etc. OR That homepage is just a scam and is aimed at trying to debunk atheism plain and simple. There is obviously a war going on between athiesm, logic and science and religion. Well, nice try! Next (reply to this comment)
| from Rain Child Sunday, November 05, 2006 - 01:06 (Agree/Disagree?) I've just read something that's kind of thrown me...a guy who was at the logical place I'm at now, and the story of how he went from this - to Christianity! See what you think: http://www.ex-atheist.com/from-skepticism-to-worship.html I don't understand how he felt a purely physical life could be meaningless - to me knowing that we have so little time only increases the preciousness of life, and my desire to help my fellow humans. Thinking they were all going to a better place anyway...I don't see how that could help me be more compassionate. And how did he arrive at Jesus being the answer? I could understand if his final conclusion was that there is so much more to us than what we can prove, and that we need to nurture our spirits as well as our bodies...but Jesus? Why? | From lisa Sunday, November 05, 2006, 15:38 (Agree/Disagree?) I can see the attraction to going back to belief, te desire to know that there is a reson for everything, that someone is looking out for you, etc. I think worship to most people is a similuar feeling to being in love. Sometimes I wish I could still have that security and that purpose. Denial is very strong,if you wanted that belief bad enough, I'm sure you could find a way to shut down your mind.(reply to this comment) |
