Getting On : All My Politics
Rage against Pop. | from Fish - Wednesday, December 08, 2004 accessed 1343 times Late night thoughts involving Port. Remember the intro to Lord of the Rings? (The movie) “The world has changed” That’s the way I feel now. Like Tea so succinctly put it “No one reads books anymore, just nutritional facts required by the FDA, Fuck them". That’s right Tea, fuck them. It’s the age of information. A flood of biblical proportions. Who exists in this modern age who is not so filled with propaganda that all they can think is preplanned? It would seem that we have finally arrived at the death of free thought. We don’t need a totalitarian government to brainwash us, we have a totalitarian media. The preplanned preprogrammed prepackaged microwave heated pop thoughts pervade every level of society, from the idiot Japanese high school girl right up to the president of the free world. What happened to us? Rock is no longer rock. It’s a product with stocks and market projections. Is money all it comes down to? Money, we need it, to pay for our Botox treatments, our breast implants, our facelifts, our Propicia, our Viagra. Because now that’s all that really matters; appearances. No more room for originality, lets just butcher out remakes of remakes, that way we can keep the investors happy. And no, never have an original thought; it may not be politically correct. I would think that Bush was a droid of some sort if he wasn’t so damn stupid. Oh well at least he looks good in a suit. That’s all we want anyway. Give the people wine and circuses. Don’t bother them with anything that may shake their faith in us. We have developed a new improved slick ‘pop inquisition’. It never really left us, we just forgot about it. We all must bow before the divine perigumd. Those who stand against it are few. They are sure to be burnt at the stake of public stigma. Such an irony. I left one cult to join another; the only difference is this one has a lot more members. |

Ever try to talk with a liberal about anything real? All they can do is quote lines of politically correct dogma at you. And if you dare challenge that you’re a sexist, a racist, a homophobe, a backward thinking, small-minded redneck. New ideas have never been welcomed by society at large. The annoying thing now is that the people who suppress free thought do so under the banner of liberty. Their “liberty” is just another papacy. History repeats itself again and again. Will we ever learn? (reply to this comment)
| from Baxter Friday, December 10, 2004 - 02:50 (Agree/Disagree?) There is a solution- oh yes! Firstly, we must shoot Rupert Murdoch -or blow him up, or whatever; then, we must kill Bob Geldof - seriously,we wouldn't just be doing the world a favour, we'd be doing him a favour, the dude is miserable. ANd if he makes me endure another bandaid SHITE single by jamming all my television channels with it again, IT'S GONNA BE LIFE AND DEATH: HIM OR ME! Finally, of course, to symbolically rid the world of diseased pop SHITE, you all know who we must kill next: the spice girls. they represent everything that is wrong with pop music, the great parasite on the body politic. Frankly, if they kill that other pointless icon of the British media -dear old Becksie-, EVEN BETTER!! I propose we start a fund; k'mon, people this will be the most worthwhile charity you'll ever contribute to. We raise a couple million dollars and then we pay out to whoever offs the lot. I PROMISE YOU IT'S WORTH IT! GIVE ME YOUR MONEY! CHANCE OF A LIFETIME, WORTHWHILE INVESTMENT! GET IN ON THIS GREAT DEAL WHILE YOU STILL CAN! ps. excuse me, I must now shoot myself repeatedly in the head. (reply to this comment)
| | | | | | | | | | | from neez Thursday, December 09, 2004 - 19:20 (Agree/Disagree?) Your absolutely right but we as consumers actually have the final say in the matter. Advertising only works because ppl watch it. Fucking crap movies that make you wish you'd stayed in bed that day only sell-out because we believe the bs tv ads that show you the only good 10 seconds of the 'years biggest' movie. As far as music is concerened I really think it's a hopelessly lost cause & until pop-groups are outlawed & hunted down for their shiny teeth & tank tops, the radio is dead to me. | from moon beam Thursday, December 09, 2004 - 08:03 (Agree/Disagree?) My sentiments exactly! Children as young as one can "detect" brand names and start becoming consumers before they are born, aided by parents. Which brand of bottle, baby grow, trainers, cot, pushchair etc.. By the time they are three or four it is not difficult to find a parent pulling their hair out in the supermarket because little harry wants the cereal he's seen on tots TV, the one with all the sugar, marshmellows etc.. It's a travesty when you know that starvation is the biggest killer on our planet,as highlighted by Bandaide who just released their single "Feed the world", not a musical masterpeice but a good buy all the same. Closly followed by Malaria, for nothing more then that an average african can't afford to buy a mosquito net. There is plenty we can do, it's just having the will do do so. TF should have had us sowing nets and distributing them, then I maybe wouldn't have felt they'd wasted so much of my childhood. I hate the fact that in some parts of the world the difference between you and the next guy is whether your alive or not, when the difference in other places is if you've got the fastest car or nike trainers. | | | From moon beam Thursday, December 09, 2004, 11:16 (Agree/Disagree?) I do agree that both condoms and birth control is very much needed. I watched a disturbing documentory about the rape of small children and babies that still occurs. Some believe that it cures them from aids. But any-hoo this basically means IMO, that the further people can move away from superstition, faith, out dated hocus pocus ideas, the better off all round. Fuck the church and its stance on contraception. Fuck the spirit world for giving gurus, prophets and whitch docters more power. It's people who have no where else to turn that ultimitly give these sorts the opportunity and pull to do such ugly things and to use such barbaric methods. (reply to this comment) |
