Getting On : All My Politics
Powerful Quote | from steam - Friday, June 04, 2004 accessed 1229 times I just came across a powerful quote by a chinese writer named Lu Xun. I thought it was relevant to our past and the way The Family tries to whitewash it. "Lies written in ink can never disguise facts written in blood." |

Next the statesmen will invent cheap lies, putting the blame upon the nation that is attacked, and every man will be glad of those conscience-soothing falsities, and will diligently study them, and refuse to examine any refutations of them; and thus he will by and by convince himself that the war is just, and will thank God for the better sleep he enjoys after this process of grotesque self-deception." -- Mark Twain, The Mysterious Stranger, 1916, Ch.9 "When a well-packaged web of lies has been sold gradually to the masses over generations, the truth will seem utterly preposterous and its speaker a raving lunatic." --Dresden James (reply to this comment)
| from Douglas Malloch Thursday, August 12, 2004 - 10:33 (Agree/Disagree?) The tree that never had to fight For sun and sky and air and light, But stood out in the open plain And always got its share of rain, Never became a forest king But lived and died a scrubby thing. The man who never had to toil To gain and farm his patch of soil, Who never had to win his share Of sun and sky and light and air, Never became a manly man But lived and died as he began. Good timber does not grow with ease, The stronger wind, the stronger trees, The further sky, the greater length, The more the storm the more the strength. By sun and cold, by rain and snow, In trees and men good timbers grow. Where thickest lies the forest growth We find the patriarchs of both. And they hold counsel with the stars Whose broken branches show the scars Of many winds and much of strife. This is the common law of life. (reply to this comment)
| | | from cheeks Wednesday, June 09, 2004 - 09:48 (Agree/Disagree?) Very good statement. No matter how much the Family tries to white wash the past it will never go away. Today I got a copy of the Wine Press here is the Family's definition of Vandari and the supposed origin of the name. " These repulsive, blood-red creatures you see transformed before your eyes are the Vandari , agents of the netherworld, who infiltrate the world population in the Last Days.(Note: Phonetically this is pronounced Van-DAR-ee with the accent on the second syllable.) Look at the significance of the Vandari name in your human language. The "van" is derived from the word "vandals," the "dar" from the word "dark" the "i" spelling of the last syllable signifies "I", denoting self or selfishness. I wonder if they remember that we are their children a product of them and their religion. Our hatred and distrust we have learned from them we are the monster that they have made. | From exister Thursday, June 10, 2004, 14:57 (Agree/Disagree?) Thanks for reminding me that the cult is populated by a bunch of would be, amateur etymologists. Did any of you ever have to sit through the acronymic breakdown of the word "evil?" It seems the special end time etymology that they inherited from a drunken pedophile fails to make a distinction between syllables and initials. Maybe those of you who got your PhDs in the symbology of cults can elaborate on this.(reply to this comment) |
