Getting On : Education
Help needed for Research | from Anne-Lau - Friday, January 13, 2006 accessed 1242 times In the framework of my final thesis, I would like to study the psychological impact of collective education, in a new religious movement, on adult people. This study concerns people who had grown up in the movement from their earlier age (second or third generation ex-members). Hello, I'm a Belgian student in the last year of psychology (University of Louvain-La-Neuve). I address to you because in the framework of my final thesis, I would like to study the psychological impact of collective education, in a new religious movement, on adult people. This study concerns people who had grown up in the movement from their earlier age (second or third generation ex-members). I need the participation of 50 people to realise this study. Please help me to carry out this project by answering a questionnaire. It's a bit longer to fill in but really helpful for the research ! Your participation to the study allow you to have a synthesis of the results ( or all the work in French if your are really interested in ). The questionnaire is not a nominative one, so it is absolutely anonymous . The mail who serve me to contact you will be totally erased when you will send me the questionnaire completed. If you accept to participate, you can ask me the questionnaire at this e-mail address : alterrisse AT yahoo DOT fr If you have any questions or comments you can also contact me at the same e-mail address (or through my profile). Thank you very much ! Anne-Laure Terrisse. |

| from Question Friday, January 13, 2006 - 10:04 (Agree/Disagree?) I may be interested in participating. I have a question about your use of the term "education." I understand that in French, that term refers more to upbringing than to academic schooling, which is what is is generally used to denote in English. I thought there might be a possibility, since you are in Belgium, that you are Francophone and thus using the French connotation of "education" as general upbringing and "moulding" of a person. I certainly got a lot of that in the group but very sparse "academic schooling". Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks. (reply to this comment)
| From Anne-Lau Saturday, January 14, 2006, 03:07 (Agree/Disagree?) You guessed right, I'm Francophone ! I'm really sorry if I expressed myself in a broken English. The term education is to undersand as general upbriging of a person. I would like to know with the questionnaire if there is an impact of growing up in a collective on the adult psychology state. The questionaire contain different parts : the parental caregiving style, education style, way of interacting with the partenaire, and assumptive world. There is a last part on the social desirability and some questions about you : age, mother tongue,...When all the questionnaires would be completed, I would study the results in a statistical way and compare them with "the norm" of each questionnaire. The results is in fact the way of the ex-members differs or egal the norm of the questionnaires. I hope answering to your questions. (reply to this comment) |
