Getting Out : Inside Out

Sympathizing w/The Family

from John Jr. - Thursday, July 27, 2006
accessed 1488 times

I've been waiting for The Family to pull one of these out and call it a "Letter from the Public". This was posted on myconclusion.com last month.

Dear Family Members,

I have read your excellent websites and just want to state my sympathy for your organization and the families of the members who are dead in the Ricky/Angela Smith affair. It was a real tragedy for everybody both the family and friends of the murderer, Ricky and Angela Smith, his victim.

Due to the fact that murder is largely unknown to most of you, I can tell from your letters that most of you are shocked. Unfortunately as a worldly guy whose faith in God and Jesus was affected long ago due to what I’ve seen in organized religion and in the world, I am not shocked just saddened especially since I feel I may have met Angela Smith when I was a kid in VA.

The sad truth is what happened to Ricky and Angela Smith a year and a half ago is so commonplace in the world now in days that it just doesn’t shock me. Truthfully, the only thing that shocked me is that Ricky obviously came from a spiritual family background where he was surounded by family and friends. In many ways, he had it better than many of us in the world who are pretty much alone. Also, he was good friends with the victim who trusted him and that is really creepy but not really shocking as it too happens all to often, more often in large cities but also in rural areas in the world we live in today.

This leads me to the sad fact. The drama of what happened to Ricky and Angela Smith happens at least 20 times a year just in this country perpetuated by people who never had anything to do with The Family who are ostenstibly members or former members of mainstream, Christian Sects. Yet these Sects are never criticized for the actions of these members so why was The Family singled out so much during the media report of this tragedy?

A major difference between The Family and the other Sects though is that this murder is so shocking to The Family’s members and the public at large because it is the first time such a murder has happened between Family members while similar acts happen many more times between members of other mainstream Sects who are never mentioned in relation to their members’ actions! The second major difference; Ricky killed himself which showed some sense of guilt for his actions against Angela Smith whereas others who do similar crimes feel no guilt for their actions and seek to use their obviously warped mental condition to escape capital punishment and earn their freedom.

This is what sadly shocks a hardened man of the world like me; that Ricky, deep in his soul, had some sense of right and wrong and was not totally evil like some of the other malfactors of heinous crimes are that I have heard of and continue to hear about because that isn’t the norm for a murderer’s behavior.

Therefore, Ricky’s family can at least have some consolation that he definitely showed himself influenced by a better background of positive moral values than the vast majority of murderers that I hear about on a daily/weekly/monthly basis! It seems to me that a valid case can be made that had he stayed within the value system and society of The Family and not exposed himself to people who altered his immature perceptions and caused him to hate those he once loved, he most probably would have turned out ok as a person.

Thus, those who have an axe to grind against The Family are at least somewhat blameworthy for what he did. Since the media likes to dig up dirt, why aren’t they investigating the actions and lifestyles of some of The Family’s detractors? It is my belief that among The Family’s critics are those with some really evil inclinations who have proven The Family’s leadership to have positive values by NOT allowing them continued fellowship with them because they have evil tendencies! It is obvious Ricky had a problem caused by anger which seemed to me was triggered by those who have an axe to grind with your organization.

Best Wishes: D. P.

Whoever the person who wrote this is, they need to get educated. Ricky was not a murderer he was a young man who had been abused sexually and mentally. He was brainwashed from the time he was born to fit into David Bergs incesttuous royal family. He felt responsible for all the children because he was brought up by Berg to be our leader, he felt he had to do something about it, to send a message- of how hurt and angry he was. It's very frustrating to suffer candone child abuse and have the organization call you a lier.I hope someday we can create an archive of all the Mo letters that talk about having sex with children or FFing, like the story of Davidito, Life with Grandpa, heavens girl , Macumba (that was a weird one), and on and on and on. Don't tell me it never happened, that's what created Rickys feeling of hopelessness and frustration. If we could refer these "family" supporters to a sight with all the comics and writings, they could see for themselves, and we wouldn't have to be proving anything anymore. David Berg was sick in his head and Maria protected him and created this image for us to follow, I think she should be held responsible. Ricky even said he wanted to kill her, his own mother, that should show you what shes like. She never protected him and abused him herself. She created a monster "by their fruits ye shall know them", if that's how Ricky felt about Maria and he knew her best, and was living "the good life" compared to thousands of other cult kids, I feel he truly didn't see any other way out. He could't stand the pain. Every person who was abused deserves justice. Even if the abuser decides its in their best interest to change the rules like the "family" did in 1989 that doesn't erase the past. We were sexually abused, and some severely how dare you write such an ignorant letter.

I think we're supposed to buy it because he used words like "thus" and "therefore" (it means he's really smart 'n shit). "Blameworthy"??? Give me a break.

This is the worst piece of family crap I have ever had the misfortune to read.

"As a man of the world who was hardened by the world while I was a worldly man..."

STFU! As a born again systemite I know for fact that nobody but the family uses "Worldly" in that context.

This thing irritates me more than I could possibly express.

While I may have agreed with you on that a couple weeks ago, I've heard it used in exactly that context a few times recently - grating on my ear each time, but having absolutely no TF connection.(reply to this comment

Why would a "worldly guy whose faith in God and Jesus was affected long ago due to what [he has] seen in organized religion and in the world" use the term. You know what, I don't even care any more. Rest in peace horsey.(reply to this comment

Oh, don't get me wrong, I agree. They're full of shit. NO ONE talks like that. My point was just on that one word. But when you take the letter as a whole, it's obviously fake. I write letters to my boss from happy customers too when I need a raise. I'm just a little better at it than that.(reply to this comment

Yeah, when I was in the military, it used to be a game. Get drunk, watch the 700club, wait for the number, and then, here's the fun part, call. The game was to see who could come up with the most fcked up problem. We'd tell them we were students at Regent, Bob Jones, or Liberty (all colleges that they are part of that ban women wearing pants, interracial dating (until a couple years ago), premarital sex, drinking, drugs, etc). Example:

"um, uh see I'm a uh student at liberty so I can't give my name but I'm really scared that I'm gonna go to hell." "why honey" " cause there was this party in the dorms and all the seniors where doing coke and so I tried some" then you'd hear them cough " well you need to tell someone" " yeah but I told the resident advisor but she hit on me"

Okay so I'm a bad person, but it was fun, and what the hell else do you do when the base is on lockdown.(reply to this comment

I've heard it in both contexts. Actually hear it on the 700 Club a lot. Yes, I watch it sometimes. It's some of the best comedy on TV and not even intentional. (reply to this comment

I think the word 'worldly' here was intended in its normal context- a man of the world, as opposed to the poor naive Family members who are so innocent they haven't got a clue about things like hatred, bitterness, etc and can't understand how anyone could point a finger of blame at them when all they live for is love and helping others.(reply to this comment

Frightening, maybe you came across a group of undercover familyites. I still say it was written by Uncle Helpy Helperton in an effort to reinforce their perspectives. Even when it tries not to be it is so subjective it could only be an insiders point of view.(reply to this comment

They need to come up with better forgeries than that, it's obviously a Family member. The language, weird reasoning and passive-aggressive negativity are all typical Family traits.
