Getting Out : Inside Out
Disorientation | from cyborcosmic - Wednesday, June 09, 2004 accessed 1572 times Definition: Mental confusion or impaired awareness, especially regarding place, time, or personal identity. I would like to know how many people suffered from disorientation? Because of the constant pressure from our environment to perform, I feel like I am missing parts of my natural childhood development. I was growing in a state of constant disorientation. I had no clue what my relationship with my environment was. The Family's lack of stability and structure confused me. I know that the environment that children are raised in is what shapes their identity, and since our environment was abusive and lacking any real love and care, my identity is impaired. Also I don't find it healthy to have so much responsibility as a small child, this can further disorientate, simply because its too much to deal with! |

I've been out of the family for nine years now and it took me a long time to find my identity. But I'll tell you what I discovered, because it worked for me and it seemed to help my mom, too. The tuth is you are wharever you want to be, study yourself. What are you're talents, what do you like, food music everythin. Study religions decide what your heart tells you to believe. Define who you are, a victim or a winner inspite of all the odds? Remember God is love and you have his creative power in your hands! Life is like a dream so make it what you want it to be. Take hold of your life from here on and make it wonderful! Most of all trust your heart-you are very valuable and are -a small part of God himself! (reply to this comment)
| | | from cyborcosmic Friday, June 18, 2004 - 08:32 (Agree/Disagree?) what I meant to ask : Are you feeling disorientation (not knowing who you are) and if you know who you are then what has helped you to overcome disorientation. You could also call it self-discovery or finding who you are not. I found that without knowing yourself you won't know your boundaries and without knowing your good qualities you won't believe the goodness others see in you. (reply to this comment)
| from Dr.4-Shure Monday, June 14, 2004 - 19:24 (Agree/Disagree?) Yes, some times I feel that way as well, especially when TF was always expounding on the point of "you got to be yourself and What the will of the Lord is for You!". Turns out to be "you be what I, as the home shepherd wants you to be." It's taken a while for me to find myself since leaving...I've actually found out here you can find good friends, so much for TF's Hog wash. What the will God is for you? well i never found it as everything got down to the point of being so illusive, nothing was straight, it becomes this total mind trip, and over spirituallity. | From Tuesday, June 15, 2004, 07:33 (Agree/Disagree?) So right Dr. It was like "you're not happy as the Lord made you. The Lord made you for mopping the floors, not to go on the singing team on a trip to some interesting city or in the group of leaders kids who start in the Kiddie Viddies and then become VSes. Why do you want to be something other than how the Lord made you? You will just go crazy like that poor guy in Eastern Europe!"(reply to this comment) |
