I watched the 20/20 show tonight and was just totally appalled. I am the mother of three teenage boys. The very thought of anyone hurting them the way you all were hurt can only bring homicidle thoughts to mind. All I can say to all of you is to stay strong. Do not succumb to the beast by killing yourselves or by seeking murderous revenge. I don't know what you feel...I cannot possibly understand. Watching the show angered me. If you hurt yourselves, Berg or Moses or whatever his name is...will win...still controlling all of you from the grave. I feel bad for Ricky his pain must have been unbearable...unimagineable. Stay strong for him...for yourselves. Look at yourselves in the mirror and shout to the image in front of you "I love me Devil, I will not let you take me! Be Gone!!" Maybe this sounds corny, but it really works. He's trying to reach you all from Hell...don't let him take you...don't let him control you now. As for Ricky's mother, she will have her day in court, whether here or in the after. I would much prefer to read about her arrest and her slow and painfully rotting pathetic life ending in prison. I wish you all knew what a real caring, loving, parent is really like. I love my babies so much...not in the sick way you all were "loved." I'm sure you don't want my pitty and I'm sorry if this is what you feel, but I can't help it...I'm sorry you never knew what is was to be a normal child, a teenager. I pray that one day, if and when you're all parents, you will know how to properly love your children, leaving no scarring effects on them. I want you all to know that you'll all be in my prayers forever. I'll pray for you to find inner peace and happiness. Use your experience to help others and hopefully someday you'll be set free from these demons. Please don't be mad with God...it was the beast who guided the people who did this to you..it wasn't God. Believe in Him, don't forsake him, read the Holy Bible and slowly but surely you'll finally find your peace. May God bless you always. Outsider from New York (reply to this comment)
| | | | | | | From Oddie Saturday, February 03, 2007, 02:22 (Agree/Disagree?) I don't know about everyone else, but I'm not mad at god/satan. It would make little sense to resent and blame god/satan - A figment of the human imagination. A product of fiction - for the evils men and women have caused. Do I blame Allah for suicide bombers? No I don't. To blame god/satan for our childhood would be no different from blaming Voldemort or Sauron, Captain Hook, or Lex Luthor for any of the many unfortunate chapters of human history. What's worse, to blame it on "the beast" like you say, only defends the perpetrators of the crimes against us. The notion that any supernatural entity was behind the actions of these men and women only serves as an excuse, exonerating, the perpetrators. So many criminals testify in court, "I don't know why I did it, something in me was just evil at that time, I would normally never do something like that, I'm not that kind of guy." Well, I don't care two pockets full of jelly beans if he normally wouldn't, the issue is he did. Man hands evil and sorrow to man. At times man uses "god" or "demons" as a vehicle to convey such sorrow. But "god" or the absence thereof, "the beast" or the absence thereof, is NEVER the root cause of any action, positive or negative. We humans use "god" or "demons" to justify our selfish and human desires and plans. We humans, and we humans alone have the power to create evil, and we humans alone must bear the responsibility for our own actions. Unless you have a way of placing "god" or "the beast" in the dock, don't use them as scapegoats. We were abused by humans, flesh and blood, not by puff the magic dragon, not by the great king of the pumpkins, not by darth vadar, not by the wizard of oz. We were abused by wicked people with wicked minds, each one fully capable of distinguishing right from wrong. (reply to this comment) |
| | | | | | from candycane Friday, February 02, 2007 - 21:38 (Agree/Disagree?) I watched the 20/20 show tonight and was horrified by what i saw. While my family nor myself were never members of this terrible cult, I can understand at least to a point, your pain. What you all must have endured as children and the pain that lingers on now as adults is unspeakable. As a mother to 3 young little girls and can not understand how any adult could cause so much harm to a child. I guess what I mean to say is that I will pray for healing for each of you. I have been touched by your story and have been talking with my close friend about the cult. We are truly baffled at what we saw tonight on 20/20. We would love to support you all in any way possible as well as helping other children who are trapped in the cult and unable to reach out for help. I can only thank God that each of you were able to muster the strength to leave the group and move on with your lives. Thanks for sharing your story with me. It is so sad that in todays world things like this are still going on. It is so hard to believe that nothing can be done to totally disolve this terrible cult and save other children fromt his fait. | From Phoenixkidd Wednesday, February 07, 2007, 13:25 (Agree/Disagree?) I happened to come across the ABC airing by accident on Friday night, needless to say I couldn't stop watching till the end. It just brought back too many traumatic memories and stress of having to please God and the cult. I watched it with one of my very close friends, he happened to be over on that night, and it was very difficult explaining this stuff to him, he already knew I was raised in a cult. My hands are up to you Davida and other women who shared their past abuses...no doubt my abuses were far less than them. (reply to this comment) |
