| from Abi Freeman Arrested Monday, September 25, 2006 - 23:13 (Agree/Disagree?) The Spokeswoman for the Family in Europe: Abi Freeman AKA Rosalind Hora / Morning Star was arrested on Friday the 22nd of October. It is believed she has been arrested over complaints lodged to the British Police regarding the molestation of at least one minor. She is currently out on bail. Freeman is the spokesperson for The Family International, a religious sect notorious for its controversial endorsement and practice of paedophilia throughout the eighties. The group often described as a cult saw one of its leading members murdered in January 2005. The murder was carried out as an act of violent retribution by a young man named Rick Rodriguez who afterwards ended his own life. Rodriguez the biological son of The Family’s current leader claimed in a shocking video-suicide-note that he and his sisters lives had been destroyed because of the abuse they sustained growing up in The Family. Freeman was disgraced in March of last year when the London Evening Standard paper claimed that she had allowed her daughter to be sexually abused by two forty year old men. Despite the damaging claims being widely distributed neither Abi Freeman nor The Family threatened the paper with legal action. Freeman now faces the prospect of a prison sentence. It will be interesting to see how long she holds out with the official Family line before shutting down under the extreme pressure of this most personal crisis. Here's the xfamily one. http://media.xfamily.org//audio/press/bbc-outlook-2006-09-18-abuse-in-the-family.mp3 Thanks for all your comments and encouragement everyone, I'm glad you were able to relate and felt it was a honest good account of what many of us have been through. And thanks BBC for giving us a voice, it was a pleasure speaking with you and your listeners. (reply to this comment)

| from cassy Tuesday, September 19, 2006 - 03:46 (Agree/Disagree?) Just heard the programme. It was well done and even more information got out then on the TV programme cult killer. Thanks Don and Sarah, you both were articulate and Claire the witch sounded so lame in her responses compared to your experiences and facts of what happened. (reply to this comment)
