Getting Out : Seeking Justice
Not Without My Sisters | from Indiowl - Thursday, May 01, 2008 accessed 826 times Hi all, am very new to this subject and hope this is the right section to post this. But i have just finished reading the very imformative and emotional story of the sisters and felt compelled to visit the site.I have vague recollections in my childhood of The Children of God hitting the news but obviously didn't understand then and am honestly shocked and repulsed at the things that happened. Celeste, Juliana and Kristina all sound wonderful and lucky people to have come out of their experiences in the way they have. I understand not all the chldren/adults have been so fortunate and that saddens me greatly. I will be reading as much as i can from the site and i wish everyone well. Being very naive and only knowing what i have read in the book i am finding it very difficult to put into words all the emotions and thoughts i have so please forgive me if i don't make much sense at the moment. I sincerely hope that life has changed in the cult and there is now no need for court cases these days but i will be reading and finding these things out. Justice should most defiantely have been served and all those who committed the crimes should have paid the price but unfortunately life is never that black and white. Thank you for giving me the chance to learn and others to do the same. All the best Lynnette |

I do not know how people who abused children in a well-oiled child abuse machinery can hang out on facebook and hold up their heads. I don't want to live in this kind of world. I do not get it. Go on, Taberah. After your sadism and your sex abuse, go on and sell your houses. Live in peace, you monster. Thank you for the torture and goodbye. I have no faith in humanity Carolyn Wilson, child abuser. Live the good life in South Africa while we die. (reply to this comment)

Hi I too have just read the book 'Not without my sisters' and felt horrified I had previously only taken a passing interest in media coverage of allegations against The Family. I have also followed up on web sites and media archives since reading the book in an attempt to understand and somehow help these child cult members, past and present. Keep up the good work Banyula (reply to this comment)
| from lyndahs Thursday, May 08, 2008 - 09:31 (Agree/Disagree?) I have just read not without my sisters. I am 22 and have had some horrible things happen in my past. But reading that book made me open my eyes to something i didn't even know existed it compelled me to search the net to find more. I just want to say to do this you have inner strength and i hope you get your justice. No one can take away the pain i know that but it seems wrong that these people are still out there. I'm a mother and truly believe anyone that could do that to children needs to be casterated. Good luck (reply to this comment)

| From Big Sister Friday, May 02, 2008, 23:25 (Agree/Disagree?) Perhaps this is the same sentiment held by Elisabeth Fritzl's mother who apparently did nothing for, what? 20 years, while her daughter and grandchildren were victimized by her husband. If, as you seem to think, the severity of criminal acts are only measured relative to other crimes, then Mrs. Fritzl may have failed to act to protect her daughter because compared to Hitler or Pol Pot, Mr. Fritzl was harmless. More or less.(reply to this comment) |
| | | | From JohnnieWalker Friday, May 02, 2008, 10:15 (Agree/Disagree?) Are you implying that everyone who was never actually imprisoned in a basement for 20 years should just shut up about the fact that they were raped or abused as children? Do you believe that the fact that there is some psychopath out there who imprisoned his daughter and committed incest with her means that those guilty of lesser crimes like rape and child abuse no longer deserve to be punished? Have you really become so callous and apathetic towards people who were victims of abuse simply because they didn't have it as bad as someone else?(reply to this comment) |
