from exister - Monday, February 13, 2006 accessed 1192 times This article is an update regarding the civil suit against The Family. Its intended audience is the fence-sitters, thinkingaboutiters, doubters, playa hatas and even the cult’s Internet super scouts (insert derogatory superhero music here). The law firm involved with this case is pleased with the number of individuals who have contacted them thus far. My sincere thanks goes out to those who took the initiative to contact them in this early, exploratory phase of the process. The status of the case at this point is that the firm is reviewing the data that they have received to see if they can use it to build a case. IT IS NOT TOO LATE! If you would like to be involved in this serious attempt to pursue justice for yourself and those who suffered with you please contact me so that I can put you in touch with the law firm. My email is: exister@gmail.com Many people seem to be wondering if this suit is worth pursuing. Let me make two things perfectly clear. First, this civil suit will not interfere with any present or future criminal investigations or prosecutions. Second, a civil judgment is the next best thing to a criminal conviction. Two very high profile examples of this are the O.J. Simpson and Robert Blake cases. In both instances, for whatever reason (super high $$$ lawyers) the families of the victims felt let down by the criminal justice system so they got some measure of monetary justice from the civil courts. There also seems to be some degree of squeamishness regarding the issue of a monetary award. Let me be perfectly clear here as well, and any cult apologists among you can feel free to flame me below. Any and all assets that the cult has are blood money, plain and simple. Those are ill-gotten assets obtained through the exploitation and abuse of members of the cult and their children. We were robbed of a huge chunk of our human potential and sent to obtain these funds without compensation. As such those assets belong anywhere but in The Family’s hands. I don’t care if they are all used on legal fees, or used to set up a fund for victims, so long as they are taken away from The Family and the moral point is made. Finally, if any of you think that this suit will have a negative impact on any of your relatives who may be rank and file members of The Family then you clearly need to think this through more thoroughly. My entire immediate family is still mired in that cult, and there is no doubt in my mind that they will be much better off when the cult’s structure becomes defunct and they no longer have to forfeit 14% of their income to maintain the illusion that Jesus loves them. And yes, I said “defunct.” I live for the day when that evil organization ceases to be. Once again, if you have any questions or concern or want to get involved in this suit feel free to email me: exister@gmail.com THIS IS FOR REAL! |
