Getting Out : Seeking Justice

The loved ones remaining

from Christian - Friday, November 26, 2004
accessed 1398 times

Just a few thoughts I had while lying in my bed and thinking.

So we are free, we have the freedom to do what we want and think how we like and choose the life we want for ourselves.

But what about the others? What about our friends and loved ones that are still trapped in the cult? Every time I think of my family that is still in or my old friends my heart hurts. We live devil-may-care while they are still there living their fucked up lives, being brainwashed a little more everyday. What can we do to save them and help them?

I think it’s our responsibility to take care of them and do something for them. Does anybody have any thoughts or suggestions on this? Any ideas or feelings on what we can do for them?

Lets start a discussion on this.

(Agree/Disagree?)

The first who had to leave I think had it the toughest with very little precednents and poor networking. Moving on for one is a really neat idea and probably thanks to the negative publicity we've gotten within the group, young people know that it only takes a dollar and an internet booth to tap into a wealth of ideas counteracting all the brainwashing they've endured their whole life. It's not perfect, but everyone asserting themselves I think needs to endure some difficulties in aserting one's self. The transition should be made easier and more options need to be available to those in the group, and that's the theme of my protest against the group at this point. I'm writing my own story and I'm sure there are thousands of people in other groups who could help us lobby for this realistic goal. Accountability is also another issue that can be addressed. FCF is a WS home, and a family home. If WS or the family is benefitting from funds funneled through this group all one has to do is go on google and type 'weddings' and Dulzura to get FCF's address and phone number. The FBI knows that thanks to some insider sharing of information but if someone truly wants to do more they can picket or tell the neighbours, you just have to be careful not to make false allegations or you can be sued for defamation, or slander.

History will be the greatest judge.

So do all you can when you can, read, write, tell people, lobby those that hold the power, bear witness, make the choices that were denyed to us.

Whatever1037 History is about finding out how the past was made present. And how individuals and society as a whole change with new information.

Whatever1037, to understand the past you have to take into account that they had different standards, and so cannot be compared to any other moment in time, dymamics change.
You can always find simularities but what about the differences?
This is why some people look at the world around them by way of astrology (positions of the stars for climate cycles.) archeology, geology, language, liturature etc.. These give us a much rounder understanding of the people in different periods of time and what drove them/hindered them.

Just for fun, consider this, isn't it more likely that the tower of babel was destroyed by lightening, seeing as we now know that it atracts tall buildings? then some people believing that it was a curse from God.

Spontanious combustion, it happens but not very often, what if this had happened to someone and the two tales got mingled, giving us the story of Elisha being whisked of into heaven.

Throughout mankind people have been fooled, manipulated, drugged, enslaved, brainwashed and tricked due to lack of knowledge, understanding and limited choices. Help eliminate the climate that is ripe for this or help perpertrate it! your choice and thats how history will judge you.

As much as we may want to help our friends our family out of the cult, we have to realise that as adults they are responsible for their choices and they have chosen to remain in the cult for now. The parents and FGA are there by choice, the younger generation up to age of 18 may not be there by choice, but there isn't much we can do about minors, they are under the legal guardianship of their parents and so must remain unless it can be proven that their parents are not providing them with adequate care, or their parents allow them to leave and be under the guardianship of another, or they run away.

I think the best way to help them is to be there for them and be prepared to help them out if and when they decide to leave and start their lives over. A lot of the people here have been involved in helping especially siblings start their lives over.

It's fortunate that now there is the Internet and email so that those still in the group can take advantage and research, contact other exmembers and find out for themselves truths, rumors and reality. Quality articles on the exmember sites go a long way to explaining some of the things presents exmembers may not know or be aware of, giving them another side of the picture regarding the Family or religion itself that they may not have thought about.

One thing that doesn't help is antagonism towards them. Remember when you were in the cult and anyone who criticised or ridiculed it were automatically labelled as potential enemies and put on the 'treat with caution' list? If my family who were already out had done that with me, it wouldn't have helped me to leave sooner, I'm glad that they were just there when I left and helped me through a lot of the initial confusion.

I'm not against bringing the cult to justice for their crimes, but when it comes down to it, they are free to believe and live as they so choose as long as they aren't breaking the law and hurting their children. If they are guilty of illegal activities or not providing their kids with a safe environment to grow up in, then legal action can be taken against them.

Talking on this site though about their beliefs and practices will help the youth still in who are questioning or looking for other things to see that the cult may not be entirely right and Berg may not be the ET prophet....
