Getting Out : Seeking Justice
Watch Football and Support TF: | from Albatross - Thursday, February 05, 2004 accessed 1693 times Yes.....child abusers are now asking for your donations on the NFL charity site. Well, it looks like FCF/TF is now working with the NFL to get people to give to them. http://www.jointheteam.com/getinvolved.asp scroll down, right above the Peace Corps My guess is that the NFL has no clue about their sordid past. Let’s tell them: Here is the email address: jointheteam@nfl.com |

| from Cunegonde Monday, February 09, 2004 - 01:44 (Agree/Disagree?) Here is some additional contact information for NFL Charities. Beth Colleton Director of Community Affairs National Football League Charities 280 Park Avenue New York, NY 10017 Phone: 212-450-2071 or 212-450-2000 Fax: 212-681-7573 or 212-450-7572 Colletonb@nfl.com David Proper, Counsel National Football League 280 Park Avenue, 16th Floor New York, NY 10017 PARADE Magazine is a sponoring partner of NFL Charities. You can find contact information for them at: http://www.parade.com/mediarelations/index.html This page http://www.jointheteam.com/partners.asp notes that "the magazine has supported issues ranging from freedom of speech and literacy to abolishing child abuse." Thus, it seems unlikely PARADE would knowingly support the promotion of a charity that not only allows child abusers to participate in and supervise its projects, but was also founded by an organization that apparently has an official policy of temporarily excommunicating members who report child abuse to law enforcement agencies, restricting freedom of speech and promoting illiteracy by prohibiting (in some cases) its members from sending their children to public schools. It should also be noted that the Family Care Foundation is promoted on page 15 (or 9 in the PDF version) of their booklet "The Volunteer Playbook: A Game Plan for Giving Back" which is available at http://www.jointheteam.com/Community_QB_Playbook.pdf They also send copies by mail to those who request them. | from little me Friday, February 06, 2004 - 12:25 (Agree/Disagree?) Upon a casual tour of FCF projects on one continent where I spent my childhood in the Family, in several of the countries, I found that all of the "project managers" were people that I had lived with in the group's communes. Some of them I have no bad memories of. Unfortunately, others were abusive of me and my peers at the time. Some were even involved such illegal activity as running a brothel, aka "FF Home." A number were leaders in the group or held key positions such as running the Selah PPC. (reply to this comment)

| from exister Thursday, February 05, 2004 - 18:55 (Agree/Disagree?) Below is the contribution of my alter ego: The Activist With The Active Fist. Dear Sirs, It has come to my attention that you are collaborating with an organization known as the Family Care Foundation. I feel a responsibility to appraise you of certain facts that may cause you to reconsider your association with the organization. The FCF is actually an older organization by another name. Its history dates back to 1968 when it came into being as The Children of God. In the 1970s this organization became internationally notorious for utilizing prostitution in its proselytizing efforts. During the past 30 years this organization has also become complicit in the physical and sexual abuse of the children of its members. These allegations are not hearsay. I have firsthand knowledge of the veracity of these allegations as a result of having spent the first 16 years of my life as an unwilling member of this organization. Please scrutinize the FCF more closely and think about whether it would benefit you to be involved with this nefarious organization. Sincerely, Andrew H. Stone (reply to this comment)
