Getting Out : Leaving
The ten stages of leaving a Cult | from nobody - Sunday, March 14, 2004 accessed 2549 times (order of events not important) 1. Quiet and in awe, people say you have a blanked out look that freaks them out. No expression, quiet and scoping out the situation. Still thankful for the all the travel and living skills that you have acquired, think you're better than most. 2. Made some friends. Tried "heart sharing" with them. 3. Wished you'd kept your mouth shut, made new friends. 4. Got a decent job or started getting an education. 5. Discovered the joys of vice, went through a self-destructive phase. 6. Realize how naive and inadequate to "system" lifestyles one is, angry realizing how much we've been cheated out of what should have been ours. 7. Getting a grip. 8. Revenge is sweet! Bitter stage, people are sorry they attempted to take you for a fool. 9. Re-creation of what you feel people need to know about you, aloneness but self-realization and development. 10. Who knows? |

| from There's no buddy like nobody Monday, March 15, 2004 - 16:26 (Agree/Disagree?) The ten stages of Nobody 1. People say you have a blanked out look that freaks them out. 2. People say you use weird hippy lingo like "blanked out" and "freaks out" that freaking scares the blank out of them. 3. Made some friends. Tried "sharing" with them. 4. People wish you would just keep your mouth shut. 5. You discover the joys of "vice," things like reading "system books" eating candy bars, and using more than 3 sheets of toilet paper. 6. Women say you have a "blanked out" look that "freaks them out." 7. You get a grip and freak yourself. 8. Revenge is sweet yet you are inexplicably bitter. People take to feeling sorry for you the fool. 9. You begin a phase of spouting self-realization mumbo-jumbo.....aloneness...bitterness..foolishness..you interfere with yourself....dark and yet inside the canavorous womb that is your mind you create alternate realities to foist upon unsuspecting people so as to not "freak them out." 10. Who cares? (reply to this comment)
| | | | | | | From There's no buddy like nobody Monday, March 15, 2004, 18:04 (Agree/Disagree?) Upset? Who said anything about being upset. The only thing that would upset me would be if I shared with you the debating and rhetorical skills of a pre-schooler. I seem to be the expert on what? On self-destructive behavior? I'm not the one who wrote a poorly thought out, poorly written, vaguely Family friendly, list of ten stages, thereby opening myself up to much deserved ridicule. If you are going to fence with the big boys, throw away your plastic light saber and bring a real sword. (reply to this comment) |
