Getting Out : Creeps
One Thing Done Right | from Vixin - Friday, July 28, 2006 accessed 1084 times The presidency cannot account for much...except this. I am not one to praise the regime that be. I am more of a believer in all things liberal, gay marriage, protecting the environment, and most of all, equal rights. I do however feel it necessary to post this article, as it seems pertinent to the subject matter on this site. Particularly in this section, Creeps. Read and enjoy. http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2005-07-27-sex-offender-bill_x.htm Madenia |

I understand why it took a long time to pass – the justice system is far from full-proof, and many of the people who have been convicted of sex crimes are probably innocent, just as most of the guilty are never charged. I think the biggest step we could make in the pursuit of justice would be a national DNA database, accessible only by the justice department – every person would be in it from the time they are born. People heavily oppose this and I don’t understand why. Sure, it would slightly undermine our privacy, but I would much prefer to know that my daughter is a little bit safer than to hold on to the imagined privacy that I gain by not having my DNA on file somewhere. BTW, Vixen, I was wrong – vixen is a “shrewish, ill-tempered or spiteful woman”, not a witch per se. I’m sure you prefer the definition “female fox” or “A hot looking foxy woman” though! | | | from smell my face Friday, July 28, 2006 - 20:46 (Agree/Disagree?) I heard John Walsh (the guy from america's most wanted) on Eliot this morning. He was talking about this finally being passed after two years. He said it kept getting tanked and put aside because everytime it was scheduled to come to the floor; someone would tack some stupid rider to it. Even this, something this important and popular, a complete no-brainer; couldn't make it through this congress for two years. I'm glad it passed though. Finally. (reply to this comment)
