Getting Out : Creeps
Family member denies connection? | from porceleindoll - Friday, April 08, 2005 accessed 1960 times I am a bit pissed right now. I just heard that a Family member denied his being part of the Family when a newspaper showed up at his door to interview him. It makes me mad because he doesn't even have the courage to stand beside his belief and lifestyle, and will deny it first chance trouble comes his way. What kind of faith is that? Chicken coward. At least you can somewhat admire a person who won't deny the truth under pressure, but the person who denies it at the first chance? Remember the guys out on the ice? Well, seems he sold his crown pretty quick. And this guy's done it before, or tried to, the last time trouble came around. The basis for denial--money of course. |

| from porceleindoll Saturday, April 09, 2005 - 04:16 (Agree/Disagree?) I can't give out the name of this person, I don't feel it's right to do so. It seems to me in the past couple years that the leadership has mandated that its members be open about who they are and not ashamed to witness in the name of the Family. If this person didn't want to tell the media who they were, they didn't have to deny it outright, they could have just told the media to get off their property and leave them alone. And it was an FGA. (reply to this comment)
| From exister Monday, April 11, 2005, 11:22 (Agree/Disagree?) How the hell is it wrong to name the person? Let me rephrase that in a kinder, gentler way: Please explain the reasoning that led you to conclude that it is wrong to name someone in association with the choices he made as a consenting adult? Ever heard of the fabled "permanent record"? You know, that thing that society holds over your head to keep you in line? I say we start one of those for each and every FGA out there. They made their choices, and for that their identity deserves no protection.(reply to this comment) |
| | From porceleindoll Monday, April 11, 2005, 15:13 (Agree/Disagree?) It's my personal ethic to not do so. People who have the person's email or phone number may start to hassle and give their place a hard time. They have little kids who are not guilty as the parents, I wouldn't like to see them get scared or hassled. It was told me through 3rd party, and while it is interesting and solidifies the fact that Family members are scared of being associated to the group, I don't think naming the individual would do any good. While the individuals may not deserve protection, their children do, if children are involved, it's important that we think things through more carefully. After all, we've all felt the backlash of our parent's choices, and have suffered fear because of them. We should relate.(reply to this comment) |
| | | | from Big Sister Friday, April 08, 2005 - 20:51 (Agree/Disagree?) I thought that behavior was standard procedure. My sister uses a variety of tiny, out of the way Christian fellowships as a front. If anyone asks she says she's a member of one of these groups. No one ever checks because the group is always in another state. I think she just finds these fellowships on the internet. When asked directly if she is a member of TF, she lies and says she has never heard of them. I personally think it is part of the charm of the cult to be persecuted. Ah, the power, the drama, the excitement! Without Enemies the poor culties would have a much duller life! (reply to this comment)

| | | | | | | | | | from Phoenixkidd Friday, April 08, 2005 - 18:33 (Agree/Disagree?) Japan is a very closed unforgiving society, I totally understand this guy's position in this aspect. Maybe he didn't have the privilege, like us of being raised in the cult and could easily blame his parents for bringing him up in this cult. Maybe he joined into the cult when he was young and his boss might fire him or his family would disown him if they found out he belonged to a foreign cult. You have to remember the general public is probably very unknowledgeable about cults and hippies and free love, all stuff that most americans are pretty familiar with. Kudos for his denial. | from roughneck Friday, April 08, 2005 - 17:30 (Agree/Disagree?) My God woman, don't you read your MO letters?!? And I quote: "..they are God's enemies. They are serving the devil and they therefore have *no right* to know the truth." (*underlined in text) http://www.xfamily.org/index.php/Image:Deceivers_Yet_True-pg02.jpg While I agree that this bloke's fuckin' pretty pathetic, (he probably smells brownies too) he's just using The Family's standard modus operandi: Deny, Deny, Deny. - And as such this shouldn't come as too terrible a surprise. What really tickles me, though, is sheer number of man-hours that Family Members are going to be spending on their knees, vigorously fellating Jeebus for protection against "persecution" over the next few weeks. But hey! - at least if they're home wacking off to jeebus's and stealing his keyring they're not out being pests to good systemites, eh? :D (reply to this comment)
